2006 Hurd Motorsports
Track Championship Points Series

Lisle, NY - November 11, 2006

There was a packed house in Lisle, New York for the annual Hurd Motorsports
Broome-Tioga & Hurricane Hills Motocross Banquet on November 11th.

Tom and Peggy Hurd, promoter/owners of Hurd Motorsports, who promote motocross and various motor sports events through out the year at their race facility, The Broome-Tioga Sports Center, in conjunction with the new promoters of Hurricane Hills, Joe and Claire Fritz, hosted their annual awards banquet at the Lisle Fire hall in Lisle, New York, on November 11th.

The banquet honored the top three riders in their respective classes who earned tracks points for top finishes at Broome-Tioga and Hurricane Hill Sports Centers in Binghamton, New York and Clifford, Pennsylvania, respectively.

28 classes were honored for Hurricane Hills and Broome-Tioga Sports Centers. Classes at both tracks cover a wide spectrum of equipment, ages, and rider ability. Hurricane Hills operates in the AMA District Six geographical region. Broome-Tioga operates in AMA District Three.

Tom Hurd and the rest of the head table honor Master of Cerimonies &
Track Announcer George Denke for his contributions over the last 25 years.

The top three riders in each class received some very cool pullovers embroidered with the respective track logo, rider's first name, class and place finished. Riders who earned top honors in more than one class were given a jacket for their outstanding achievements in multiple classes.

In addition to honoring the top three riders in each class, High Points Awards honored top riders in the categories of High Points Youth, Amateur, Expert and Veteran. High Points Award winners received beautiful four-foot trophies for their efforts over the 2006 race season and the names of all series class winners were placed in to a drawing for Honda CRF 50cc Mini bike. The Smith family were the very lucky winners of the brand spanking new Honda mini.

Prior to this years rider awards presentation, Tom and Peggy Hurd took a moment to recognize their long time Master of Ceremonies and track announcer, George Denke, for his dedication, commitment and continued contributions to both Broome-Tioga and Hurricane Hills Sports Centers over the last 25 years. Tom Hurd presented George Denke with a most unique trophy, a hand carved wooden motorcycle racer atop his steed doing a wheelie. So unique in fact, that the only other way to obtain this one of a kind and unique trophy was to win first overall at the AMA Broome-Tioga Motocross National. Everyone in the room could see and feel how touched George was by this unexpected honor.
