Roy Vanderveur (3w) and Don Borkowski (853) lead the start of the opening Evo Expert/Intermediate/Novice moto at the ACR Vintage Vet & Youth Championships at Broome-Tioga in Binghamton, New York on May 31st.

American Classic Racing (ACR) is a member owned organization that is dedicated to the sport of vintage motocross and off-road racing. ACR conducts AMA sanctioned events in the North Eastern region of the United States. ACR, with the help of its sponsors, hosts one of the best vintage motocross series in the Northeast.

Don Borkowski (853), Lloyd Patterson (77) and Anthony Sikersky (267) battle in the 1st Evo Expert/Intermediate/Novice moto at the Broome-Tioga Sports Center on May 31st in Binghamton, New York.

The opening moto of the combined gate of ACR GP Open and 250 divisions was led out of the switch-back first turn by Jason Blount, Rick Rosseter, Mark Wunderlin and Drew Reid. Blount quickly left the rest of the field behind, starting lap two with a nine second lead. Rosseter was a solid second with Wunderlin five seconds back in third. There was a big gap back to Reid in fourth and Scott Cowan rounded out the top five. Rosseter decreased Blount’s lead to eight seconds after they descended the National Hill after two and half laps. The top five were all spread out by the start of lap three. Rosseter reeled in Blount, decreasing his advantage to seven seconds. By the start of the white flag lap, Blount’s lead had decreased to five seconds but he held on to take the win three seconds ahead of Rosseter. Wunderlin, Reid and Cowan closed out the top five.

Michael Boyce, who had DNF’ed the first moto, got some serious redemption by leading the start of the final combined gate of ACR GP Open and 250 divisions. Wunderlin, Reid, John Leslie and Cowan rounded out the top five off the start. Wunderlin stalled his Honda between the first and second turn and dropped all the way back to fifth before getting back under way. Boyce started lap two with a six second lead and the top five were already all spread out. Boyce took the checkers with a 14-scecond lead. Reid, Cowan, Leslie and Wunderlin rounded out the top five.

– Lloyd Patterson (77) battles for third in the opening Evo Expert/Intermediate/Novice moto at the ACR Vintage Vet and Youth Championships at the Broome-Tioga Sports Center on May 31st in Binghamton, New York.

Roy Vanderveur Jr., Don Borkowski, Perry Sconzert, Lloyd Patterson Jr., and Eddy Kinney led the start of the opening moto of the combined gate of EVO Expert, Intermediate and Novice classes. Vanderveur, Borkowski, Patterson, Sconzert and Andy Peebbles were first through fifth at the base of the National Hill after a half a lap. Vanderveur pulled away from the pack to start lap two with a nine second lead. A half a lap later, Vanderveur’s lead was 13-seconds and increased to 22-seconds with a half a lap to go. Vanderveur took the win with a 20-second advantage. Borkowski, Patterson, Jeff Felter and Sconzert completed the top five.

– Lloyd Patterson (77) and Jeff Felter (15) battle for second in the final Evo Expert/Intermediate/Novice moto at the ACR Vintage Vet and Youth Championships on May 31st at the Broome-Tioga Sports Center in Binghamton, New York.

Borkowski, Kinney, Sconzert, Richard Rogich and Felter led the start of the final Evo Expert, Intermediate and Novice moto. Borkowski continued to hold the point with a commanding lead after descending the National Hill after only a half a lap. Peebbles, Rogich, Kinney and Felter rounded out the top five. Borkowski started the second lap with a whopping 16-second lead. Patterson had diced his way up to second after a poor start leaving Kinney and Felter to battle for third, which also relegated Rogich to fifth. Borkowski’s lead was 18-seconds after two and a half laps and was 21-seconds at the start of the white flag lap. Borkowski got the win with Patterson, Felter, Kinney and Rogich trailing.
