Vanderveur (3w) and Don Borkowski (853) lead the start of
the opening Evo Expert/Intermediate/Novice moto at the ACR
Vintage Vet & Youth Championships at Broome-Tioga in
Binghamton, New York on May 31st.
American
Classic Racing (ACR) is a member owned organization that
is dedicated to the sport of vintage motocross and
off-road racing. ACR conducts AMA sanctioned events in the
North Eastern region of the United States. ACR, with the
help of its sponsors, hosts one of the best vintage
motocross series in the Northeast.

Don
Borkowski (853), Lloyd Patterson (77) and Anthony Sikersky
(267) battle in the 1st Evo
Expert/Intermediate/Novice moto at the Broome-Tioga Sports
Center on May 31st in Binghamton, New York.
The
opening moto of the combined gate of ACR GP Open and 250
divisions was led out of the switch-back first turn by
Jason Blount, Rick Rosseter, Mark Wunderlin and Drew Reid.
Blount quickly left the rest of the field behind, starting
lap two with a nine second lead. Rosseter was a solid
second with Wunderlin five seconds back in third. There
was a big gap back to Reid in fourth and Scott Cowan
rounded out the top five. Rosseter decreased Blount’s
lead to eight seconds after they descended the National
Hill after two and half laps. The top five were all spread
out by the start of lap three. Rosseter reeled in Blount,
decreasing his advantage to seven seconds. By the start of
the white flag lap, Blount’s lead had decreased to five
seconds but he held on to take the win three seconds ahead
of Rosseter. Wunderlin, Reid and Cowan closed out the top
five.
Michael
Boyce, who had DNF’ed the first moto, got some serious
redemption by leading the start of the final combined gate
of ACR GP Open and 250 divisions. Wunderlin, Reid, John
Leslie and Cowan rounded out the top five off the start.
Wunderlin stalled his Honda between the first and second
turn and dropped all the way back to fifth before getting
back under way. Boyce started lap two with a six second
lead and the top five were already all spread out. Boyce
took the checkers with a 14-scecond lead. Reid, Cowan,
Leslie and Wunderlin rounded out the top five.

Roy
Vanderveur Jr., Don Borkowski, Perry Sconzert, Lloyd
Patterson Jr., and Eddy Kinney led the start of the
opening moto of the combined gate of EVO Expert,
Intermediate and Novice classes. Vanderveur, Borkowski,
Patterson, Sconzert and Andy Peebbles were first through
fifth at the base of the National Hill after a half a lap.
Vanderveur pulled away from the pack to start lap two with
a nine second lead. A half a lap later, Vanderveur’s
lead was 13-seconds and increased to 22-seconds with a
half a lap to go. Vanderveur took the win with a 20-second
advantage. Borkowski, Patterson, Jeff Felter and Sconzert
completed the top five.

second in the final Evo Expert/Intermediate/Novice moto at
the ACR Vintage Vet and Youth Championships on May 31st

Borkowski,
Kinney, Sconzert, Richard Rogich and Felter led the start
of the final Evo Expert, Intermediate and Novice moto.
Borkowski continued to hold the point with a commanding
lead after descending the National Hill after only a half
a lap. Peebbles, Rogich, Kinney and Felter rounded out the
top five. Borkowski started the second lap with a whopping
16-second lead. Patterson had diced his way up to second
after a poor start leaving Kinney and Felter to battle for
third, which also relegated Rogich to fifth. Borkowski’s
lead was 18-seconds after two and a half laps and was
21-seconds at the start of the white flag lap. Borkowski
got the win with Patterson, Felter, Kinney and Rogich
trailing.
