Honda riders, Sunny Drake and Chaz Clingerman, topped the podiums of the Motocross Lites B Modified and Motocross Lites C Modified divisions, respectively, both with perfect 1-1 rides, at the Loretta Lynn’s Area Qualifier at the Broome-Tioga Sports Center on May 4^th in Binghamton, New York.

Mother Nature brought rain showers on Saturday night making practice and the first few motos of the day quite slick. Gradually the sun and a good breeze dried out the track and track conditions improved tremendously.

Sunny Drake (167) and Kyle Bitterman (381) battle for the lead in the last corner of the 1^st moto at the 
Loretta Lynn’s Area Qualifier at the Broome-Tioga Sports Center on May 4^th in Binghamton, New York.

Marshall Hurd, Derek Ouimet, Konnor Buffis, Travis Clarke and Zachariah Raus led the pack out of the switch-back first turn in the opening Motocross Lites B Modified moto. When the lead riders emerged from the front rhythm section, Hurd continued to hold the point position followed by Tyler Wozney, Drake, Ouimet and Kyle Bitterman. Hurd went down in the rhythm section on the following lap and Wozney, Drake, Bitterman and Jesse Deryke advanced. Drake closed the gap on Wozney and made the pass to take the lead just before the start of lap three. Bitterman closed in on Wozney and made the pass for second in the front section on lap three. Wozney was displaced to third. Deryke and Ouimet remained fourth and fifth. Drake started lap four with a four second advantage that Bitterman chipped away at for the remaining two laps. Bitterman did all he could to get around Drake for the win but couldn’t. Drake crossed the finish line only a second ahead of Bitterman. Wozney, Deryke and Timothy Savidge closed out the top five.

Sunny Drake (167), Tyler Wozney (72), Nick Desiderio (57) and Brandon Phinney (443) lead the start of the final Lites B Mod moto at the Broome-Tioga Sports Center in Binghamton, New York on May 4^th.

Drake, Nick Desiderio, Wozney, Brandon Phinney and Hurd led the start of the final Lites B Mod moto. When the pack cleared the technical front rhythm section, the lead riders were; Drake, Hurd, Bitterman, Wozney and Desiderio. Drake had a whopping six second lead by the start of lap two. Desiderio passed Wozney taking fourth. Bitterman closed the gap on Hurd and the two battled for second for the next lap and a half, until Hurd made a mistake that allowed Bitterman to get by. Drake took the checkers with a seven second lead. Bitterman, Hurd, Desiderio and Larry McVay completed the top five.

Garret Mees (118) and Ty Space (88) battle for fourth in the opening Lites C Modified moto at the Loretta Lynn’s Area Qualifier at the Broome-Tioga Sports Center on May 4^th in Binghamton, New York.

Drake (1-1) topped the podium. Bitterman (2-2) took second and Wozney (3-6) third.

Clingerman and Greg Monroe led the start of the opening Motocross Lites C Modified moto. Clingerman was clearly in a class of his own as he quickly left the rest of the field behind and started lap two with an unprecedented seven second advantage. Kyle Rainey, Max Wagner, Dylan Foster and David Bear rounded out the top five. Clingerman’s lead increased to 15 seconds at the start of lap three and was a whopping 21 seconds at the checkered flag. Bear, Wagner, Garrett Mees and Ty Space closed out the top five.

Clingerman, Travis Ouimet, Rainey and Austin Toomey led the start of the final Lites C Mod division moto. The top five quickly spread out with Clingerman leading the way. Clingerman pulled away but not by nearly as much as the first moto, taking the checkered flag eight seconds ahead of Mees. Toomey, Wagner and Alec Eccleston rounded out the top five.

Clingerman topped the podium with a perfect 1-1. Mees took second via 4-2 rides and Wagner closed out the podium with a 3-4 tally.
