BINGHAMTON, NY, AUGUST 15, 2010

Hurd Motorsports, promoters of the beautiful Broom-Tioga Sports Center, hosted a round of the Tri-State Quad Series on August 15th. Mother Nature did not cooperate and the forecast kept many quad racers from attending. The Unadilla National was being held the same weekend and that too may have contributed to the very low turnout of riders.

Kawasaki quad pilot, Chris Holden, topped the podium of the extremely competitive Quad A division with a 2-1. Michael Bluy took second overall with a 1-2 and Erik Hines completed the rostrum, carding a 3-6 for the day.

Zachary Tubbs, Michael Talbot, Bluy, Mitch Boughton and Freddy Kiefer led the start of the opening Quad A moto. Tubbs continued to lead the pack at the start of lap two with Bluy now trailing in second. Talbot, Holden and Boughton rounded out the top five. Bluy closed the gap on Tubbs on lap three and made the pass for the lead just after the start of lap four relegating Tubbs to second. Holden got around Talbot taking third. Talbot was displaced to fourth. Boughton held fifth. Bluy held on to take the win followed by Holden, Tubbs, Boughton and Christopher Walls.

Boughton, Talbot, Bluy and Walls led the start of the final Quad A moto. Boughton remained at the point position after the pack cleared the difficult front rhythm section. Talbot, Holden, Bluy and Tubbs rounded out the top five. Just prior to the start of lap two, Holden caught and passed Talbot taking second. Talbot was relegated to third. Holden passed Boughton, taking the lead, just after the start of lap two. Boughton was relegated to second. Holden had a ten second advantage at the start of lap three. Bluy, Talbot, Walls and Mike Wood rounded out the top five. Holden increased his lead to 13-seconds by lap four and continued pulling away, taking the checkered flag and the win with a whopping 23-second lead. Bluy, Talbot, Wood and Walls completed the top five.

Brad Harrington, Erik Hines, DJ Bero, Ernie Moot and Robert Hubal led the start of the opening Quad B moto. Harrington continued to lead at the start of lap two and the top five remained unchanged. Harrington held on to take the win. Hines, Bero, Hubal and Moot completed the top five.

Hines, Harrington, Hubal, Bero and Moot led the start of the final Quad B moto. Harrington passed Hines in the technical front rhythm section to secure the lead. Hines was relegated to second. Bero, Hubal and Lyndaker rounded out the top five. Harrington started lap three with a seven second lead that he increased to eight seconds by the start of lap four, 11-seconds at the white flag and 13 at the checkers. Hines, Bero, Hubal and Lyndaker followed.

Harrington (1-1) topped the podium. Hines (2-2) took second and Bero (3-3) third.

Mitch Boughton (270), Michael Talbot (145) and Michael Bluy lead the start of the final Quad A moto at Broome-Tioga on August 15th in Binghamton, New York.

Michael Bluy won the 1st Quad A moto but had to settle for second in the final Quad A moto at Broome-Tioga.

Harrington (527) and Eric Hines (35) lead the start of the final Quad B moto.

Erik Hines (35) and DJ Bero (29) battled for second for the entire second Quad B moto.
